Rotterdam -  This shop in religious art is run by a second generation Surinam couple. They do offer services for a small compensation in: astrological predictions, readings, hand palm reading, reiki and spiritual assistence. I see all religions represented in the objects that are for sale, except for islamic art. There are christian, hindoe and buddhist sculptures and wall decorations. A representation of the Surinam society. On the map of the Tarwewijk I count 5 churches. My generation (I am 60) and our children left the churches ‘en mass') Manyt churches that are left empty are rebuild in houses or architects offices or artist studios. Here in the Tarwewijk I see two church buildings being occupied by the Victory outreach church, a pentacost church popular in Lagos too.
