Lagos -
NEPA, The Nigerian Electric Power Authority, is so unreliable that people started calling it Never Expect Power Always. Then the company changed its name to PHCN, Power Holding Company of Nigeria. The people took power again: Please Hold Candle at Night. The electricity system works no more than 20% of the time. People use generators for independent power supply.
(on the picture you see cables of landline telephone connections. In case your line doesn't work the company adds a new line. No longer in use now everybody has mobile phones)
