A lot of effort has been made to improve the neighbourhood. Especially drugs abuse and criminality connected to that gave the Tarwewijk a very bad reputation. Streets with rows of houses have been demolished to make place for little parks, childrens playgrounds and cultural centres. The lady working in the cultural centre takes a break. Not allowed to smoke inside she put the mat under the door, takes her coffee ourside and answers the phone. This is not a cultural centre but the new chemistry: Tarwezigt. The lady is a employee of the pharmacy which explains the white coat she is wearing.
