Urban Residential Wast Managment Scenario

Dhaka -  Rapid urbanization is taking place especially in cities of developing countries like Bangladesh, Dhaka City is one of them.  Solid waste generation increases proportionately
with the growth of urban population. Solid waste management is one of the important tasks City Corporation but it cannot manage it properly.
There are two types of waste collection systems prevailing in residential areas. Primary waste collection system (households-to-container)  is carried out by CBO or NGO and secondary waste collection (container-to-disposal site) is conducted by the City Corporation.
