Rotterdam -  Father Sheikh (born in Pakistan) started his mini-supermarket 8 years ago. Daughter Maawish (born in Rotterdam) wanted to be a model when she was younger, but is happy to work here now. ‘This neighborhood is like a village,’ she says, ‘We know most of the people here.’ Father Sheikh just bought some fish at Bas van der Heijden supermarket, he puts part of it on a plate and brings it to the shop next door (Afro Cosmetics, black wigs, indoor telephone booth).
